My Grandma's Grandma

Last week we learned about inheritance, a subject that makes java infinitely easier for me. When you extend a class, it makes something like a subclass, and that makes it easy to remember all the stuff to put in a class. When a class extends another, it helps me to think of them as related and the subclass as literally an extension of its parent. Using this makes me feel like a real computer programmer, one that does not have to spend hours writing and rewriting accessor and set methods...

Gimme me an A+ Proff!

I'm so pumped! I finally got my book on A+ computer certification, and I intend to use it to dominate the world. I've always regarded computer technicians as a shady bunch, and the ability to do these things for myself will save money and time. Coupled with the power to execute actions with computer languages, learning about hardware will make me able to apply the code to specific practices. Fear me.

ArrayLists

Last week was spent learning about array lists. For me this is so much easier than regular arrays! I wish I had learned it first, but I realize the importance of learning it after regular arrays. Given the memory usage, it's better to engrain young minds with array usage before introducing array lists. Also, the change in size can be confusing, with a need to adjust for size in array lists when you're removing objects. That being said, if you can understand it, I like this so much better! Yay Comp Sci!
